How To Help One Time or Recurring Donations to Support Our Ministry in Southeast Baltimore Support for Highlandtown Neighbors on 300 S. Robinson Multiple households on the 300 block of S. Robinson Street, near Bank Street, were significantly damaged by a quickly-spreading fire in the early evening of September 6th. The fire department response was very quick and effective. All residents and animals (to the extent of our knowledge) were unharmed. But most of the houses were judged unsafe for habitation, and the residents are displaced. The weeks and months ahead will be challenging for those neighbors as they assess their losses, deal with insurance, and try to put the pieces back together. While material needs may arise in the coming days (and we promise to solicit for them as well)--by far the most useful support is in the form of cash assistance. All donations made will be passed along in their entirety to the impacted households. Please note that this is not meant to replace any individual appeals made by those neighbors! But is rather intended to be a convenient place for generous neighbors to support these households as a whole. Heading to the Orioles' Game, September 17th We'll be taking a group of families and neighbors to the Orioles' game on Sunday, September 17th. Game time is 1:35pm, and we are playing the Tampa Bay Rays. Tickets cost $13 each. We are sitting in the upper deck, generally behind home plate. Section 342. All of our tickets are now sold out. Anyone from the community is very welcome to come and participate! Oktoberfest Celebration, October 22nd, 12:30-4pm Recommended donation of $20 per adult, $10 per child ages 6-17. Delicious food, beer, beverages, desserts. The feature is Sour Beef & Dumplings using Haussner's recipe, and German beer on tap. Donations to Support Our Efforts to Feed Neighborhood Families We are providing groceries, produce, and meals to more than 150 local families, now once every month (on the fourth Saturday). Your donations help us purchase food from the Maryland Food Bank and from local sources to prepare meals and give out as groceries. Donations to Support the Clinton Street Community Center: Refugee Resettlement We have purchased two fire-damaged properties next to our church building so that we can support families and expand our community work--including adding two year old classrooms for The Highlandtown Preschool! Those new classrooms opened in April 2022. Now our attention has turned to renovating the second building, to be used to provide housing and support services to refugee families. We will welcome our first family in 2023. You can donate below.
